The AMILA Rubber Cover A 28mm series of discs is the TOP selection of discs for bars and dumbbells with a diameter of 28mm. All the materials used are the top available. The rubber used is 70% primary, increasing the durability of the disc and drastically reducing unpleasant odors, while the treatment of this special rubber gives an excellent appearance and textured texture. Finally, unlike most other similar products, this series of discs from AMILA also includes a ring made of ABS (particularly durable plastic that we find in AMILA foam rollers), making the alternating discs look like a toy.

The discs although it looks like a simple product are actually much more complex. The production process in order to get a very good result, is difficult and complex, while the quality from disc to disc differs significantly. We will try to analyze the process and what the consumer should pay attention to before making the purchase.

One of the first things that makes a difference on a disc is the thickness. The reason is that cast iron is a mixture of iron and carbon. The thicker the tray, the less iron the mixture has, so the cheaper the product, but also of poorer quality.

On good discs the weight can range up to +/- 5%. If the disk quality is higher, and the quality of the factory process is not good.

The finishing process is as follows. In the beginning, after coming out of the mold, the disk is ground and smoothed (not as meticulously as in the simple enamel). If the plant is good, then put it in a rubber mold, and the layer is enough to give protection. In cheaper products, the rubberizing process is done simply by dipping the disc in hot rubber. However, this does not give the necessary tire thickness and therefore the necessary protection. Of course this will lead to a lower price but also a lower product. One way to control it is to "insert" your fingernail to feel it coming in or it is like leaning on the iron directly. Finally, the rubber mixture plays an important role. In very cheap products the raw rubber mixture is less than 30% resulting in less protection, but also a bad odor. AMILA discs have 70% primary rubber mixture.

Finally, the plastic in the ring must be of good quality so that it does not break.
