It does not have a motor, instead it increases its speed according to the speed given by the user himself. As we increase our pace, the belt moves correspondingly faster, which means that the user himself has complete control over the pace and intensity of his training.
Its curved shape is specially designed to reduce vibrations, thus offering a more natural movement, relying on a combination of friction, gravity and the speed of the user. At each step, the weight of the body is what forces the belt to roll, simulating the motion of outdoor running, but without the vibrations.
