GINGER – THE PLANT
Scientific name: Zingiber Officinalis. Description: Evergreen plant with origins from Asia. History: Written references to the therapeutic uses of the plant in Chinese texts over 2,000 years ago. The Romans held it in great esteem as medicine.

GINGER – “BIOLOGOS” ESSENTIAL OIL
Technique: Extracted from the root of the plant through steam distillation. Composition: Contains sesquiterpenes: zingiberene, b-bisabolene, a-curcumene, ingredients that ensure the therapeutic qualities of this oil. Scent: Woody, spicy, warm, and colour light yellow to green. Country: China.

QUALITIES
Powerful anti-inflammatory, analgesic, tonic, anti-oxidant, aphrodisiac.

USES
Widespread use for inhalations in cases of infection and inflammation of the upper respiratory tract: runny nose, cough, common cold, sore throat, lost voice. Beneficial in massage, as a warming agent, for sprain, muscle and rheumatic pain, muscle injuries, arthritis. Effective against all kinds of nausea, even due to pregnancy (without side effects on pregnant women and their embrya). It is considered as a good complement in cases of chemotherapy (vomiting) and for travellers at sea. It enhances the detox and tightening of the skin and acts against cellulitis by boosting blood circulation. It also contributes to the regeneration of hair. It enhances mental energy, memory and concentration. From a psychological point of view, it fights against frigidity, cruelty and incompetence, while it also enhances erotic desire and relaxation when used in diffusers or during massage.
