What does "cold process" mean?
The cold process is an innovative method followed by BEKA especially for floors made of recycled material intended for indoor use. Conventional circulating floors join the raw material (the pieces of rubber) by heating them to make them stick. The cold process, in contrast, cools them, having many advantages. Unlike hot gluing which has a 1% tolerance (i.e. on 1m², 1cm in size and 2mm in height) on expensive floors and 5% on cheaper ones (1.5% on dimensions and 5% on thickness) cold gluing has 0.01%, i.e. 100 times less than expensive and 500 times less than cheap floors. The cold process meets 100% EU requirements for less air pollution, unlike the hot process which does not.
