Bringing a more authentic experience to your rowing, the Adidas R-21 features a water-based resistance system that gives a more traditional feel and sound when exercising indoors. Depending on the total amount of water in the tank, you can choose between 7 resistance levels for a greater challenge.

Self-powered

You provide the energy
R-21 is designed for self-powered energy. With your movement, it is you who generate the energy required for the display and lighting of the rail, while the natural resistance of the water does all the rest. There is no need for a power supply, tangled cables or restrictive sockets. You have the power and freedom to exercise anywhere in your space.

Water resistance

How does it work
The R-21's water tank is designed to replicate the exact natural forces of a moving vessel. The uniform mass of water provides authentic resistance, distributing the load equally throughout the body.

Because water is 800 times denser than air, the resistance of R-21 is determined by you and varies according to the "Law of Cubes". Doubling the speed requires an eightfold increase in energy and effort. The resistance is therefore infinite and infinitely variable.

The adjustable LCD display provides real-time, all the training readings you need, including time, speed, distance, calories, reps per minute and time/500m.

With the included chest sensor you can transmit accurate data to the console so you can check your progress.

Comfort

The R-21 is equipped with a high-density saddle and has platform and leg strap adjustments to make sure your rowing is perfectly suited to your needs.

Transport

The R-21 has built-in transport wheels, which make it easier to move around your space, whenever you want.

Pulse measurement

With the included chest strap, you can measure your heart rate more accurately to track your progress.
